The Transport Department officials seem wary of implementing traffic rules in the mining belt fearing the backlash by the truck operators.
Participating in the ad hoc committee meeting, Director of Transport Arvind Lolienkar said that there is difficulty in imposing the rules in mining belt without proper support from the police.
