A panel of health experts laid out a plan on Wednesday for vaccinating certain people first in the likely event that not enough swine flu vaccine will be available to immunize every American in time for the expected surge of cases this fall and winter.
July 29: The Institute of Preventive Medicine in the state will begin proficiency tests for swine flu next week.
IPM has already tested six samples from those suspected with swine flu and the results have been sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases at New Delhi for evaluation.
Delhi schools will now study the history of swine flu and how the strain mutates. Power point presentations on the pandemic prepared by officials from the Health department will be making their way into schools.
Twelve more persons tested positive for swine flu on Tuesday. Two more schools reported one case each, taking the number of affected institutions to six. The count of confirmed cases in the city stands at 72.
