Gandhlnagar: Despite claims that land acquisition for development is a smooth affair in Gujarat, a top-level policy document has described it as a major problem for developing infrastructure projects across the state and that opposition to the process has increased considerably.

The state government has prepared a Rs 250 crore action plan to develop infrastructure in all the town and city municipalities in the State, disclosed district in-charge and Muzrai minister S N Krishnaiah Setty.

Roads, as much as any form of geological life, are inevitably subject to wear and tear. Just six years ago, the Delhi-Jaipur highway symbolised India's aspiration to join the league of developed nations with smooth grey runways that made cruising at over 100 km or more a reality.
