KOLKATA, March 21: After the Nano pull-out, the state government has finally woken up to the fact that setting up of proper infrastructure is key in motivating private investors to set up industry in the state.

Mumbai: Lending rates for infrastructure projects should be between 7 and 8 per cent for projects to be viable and the necessary investments to flow into the economy so as to boost growth.

The $600 million Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project of City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is in doldrums due to a lingering dispute between the provincial and city governments on the domain of the important infrastructure development project.

A number of irrigation projects, developmental activities and educational programmes are under way in the district.

In phase I of the Vamsadhara project, the construction of the left main canal and the release of water from the Gotta barrage helped irrigate some 25,000 hectares.
