Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vatti Vasanth Kumar & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/08/2019 regarding Godavari-Krishana-Penna rivers linking project. 

The Godavari-Krishana-Penna river linking project does not have be requisite clearance from the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This application was taken up before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on August 13, 2019.

Tribunal asked State to pay Rs. 100 cr.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jeevitnadi & Others Vs Municipal Council & Others dated 13/03/2019. This application seeks prohibition of work of concretization inside the blue line of Krishna river and other incidental directions. According to the applicant, Wai Municipal Council, is undertaking concretization work on the bank of river Krishna at Maha Ganapati ghat, Wai. Such activity is against the environment norms as no construction is allowed on the river bed inside the blue line, the prohibited zone of the river for construction.
