Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/05/2016 regarding Phase- I of the Ganga Cleaning Project. NGT wants a final meeting on 20th May, 2016 with all the stake holders (Chief Secretary, State of Uttar Pradesh, Managing Director of U.P. Jal Nigam, CEO of UP Jal Sansthan, Member Secretary of Central Pollution Control Board & Others) who are involved in Segment – II of Phase- I of the Ganga Cleaning Project in terms of the judgement of the Tribunal.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 30/04/2016. These applications have been filed by South Delhi Municipal Corporation and North Delhi Municipal Corporation seeking permission for registration of diesel vehicles used for collection and transportation of garbage on diesel based HCV and MCV vehicles.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others regarding ban on registration of diesel vehicles with engine capacity of 2000cc and above, 30/03/2016.

Interim order dated 16th December, 2015 passed by the Supreme Court restraining registration of diesel cars with a capacity of 2000 cc and above, shall continue. Court also extends time granted for conversion of all taxis including those operating under aggregators like OLA and UBER from diesel to CNG to 30th April, 2016.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M. C. Mehta & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/01/2016 regarding pollution of river Ganga caused by industrial and domestic sewage .

The Ganga meeting of Phase-2 has been fixed for 04th February, 2016 in the Chamber of NGT where the Chief Secretary, concerned officers from the Nigam and all other Authorities should be present for final deliberation prior to passing of the Judgment by the Tribunal.

To curb the growing air pollution in Delhi, Supreme Court on Dec 16, 2015 banned registration of diesel cars with engine capacity over 2000 cc engine till March 31, 2016. The apex court also said that all commercial vehicles, including trucks, which are not Delhi-bound, will not be allowed to enter the city through entry points NH-8 and NH-1.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 09/10/2015. The issue relates to steps to be taken to check pollution by commercial traffic travelling from North India towards Jaipur and onwards via Delhi.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M.C. Mehta vs Union Of India & Others on 29 April, 1999 regarding rising vehicular pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). Bhure Lal Committee in its Report submitted to Supreme Court on April 1, 1999 has indicated that more than 90% of Nitrogen Oxide (Nox) and respirable particulate matter (RSPN) from vehicles exhaust over Delhi is due to diesel emissions which is a serious health hazard.

Considering the suggestions made by Bhure Lal Committee Supreme Court directs that:

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India on Taj Mahal dated 30/12/1996 in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others. The judges noted that the Taj is threatened with deterioration and damage not only by the traditional causes of decay, but also by changing social and economic conditions which aggravate the situation with even more formidable phenomena of damage or destruction.
