Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: T. N. Godavarman Thirumulpad Vs Union of India & Others dated 16/07/2018 regarding solid waste management in Delhi.

Report of the Central Empowered Committee has been filed before the Court by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation. Some of the observations and recommendations given by the CEC Report are the following:

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: Outrage as Parents End Life After Child's Dengue dated 10/07/2018 regarding solid waste management in India.

Supreme Court asks who is responsible for clearing the garbage in Delhi – those answerable to the Lt. Governor or those answerable to the Chief Minister as there is mountain loads of garbage particularly in Bhalswa, Okhla and Ghazipur. Supreme Court directs an affidavit to be filed by the concerned officer of both the functionaries. 

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Giriraj Parikrama Sanrakshan Sansthan & Others Vs Department of Environment & Forests & Others dated 31/05/2018 regarding proper disposal of the offerings at the temples, Govardhan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sangeeta Sai Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 22/05/2018 regarding burning of the garbage in open without proper steps being taken by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority.

NGT directs joint inspection to be conducted by CPCB and State Pollution Control Board of the areas indicated in the application and file a report as to whether the garbage is being dumped and burnt as alleged without taking proper recourse in law.

Order of the Delhi High Court in the matter of Gauri Grover Vs Government of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 24/04/2018 regarding solid waste management in Delhi and public health issues associated with it.
