This Haiti Sustainable Energy Roadmap—developed in partnership with Haiti’s Bureau of the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Energy Security—explores the issues involved in building a sustainable electricity system based on domestic energy resources and capable of providing modern electricity services to all Haitians.

This report presents results of a three-month study commissioned by Climate Parliament – an international network of legislators working to promote RE to combat climate change. The primary audience of this report is state-level policymakers in the electricity domain.

UNDP MDG Carbon has recently released Guidance Paper which describes a model approach to financing the development, implementation, and operation of a sector-wide programme for renewable energy rural electrification as a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action.

Impetus to expand electricity access in developing nations is urgent. Yet aspirations to provide universal access to electricity are often considered potentially conflicting with efforts to mitigate climate change. How much newly electrified, largely poor, households raise emissions, however, remains uncertain. Results from a first retrospective analysis show that improvements in household electricity access contributed 3–4% of national emissions growth in India over the past three decades.

Osogbo — Osun State Government has commissioned rural electrification, water project and roads in Eleeru and Igbonla both in the Olaoluwa Local Government Council area of the state.

FOUR local firms have received 400,000 U$ (over 600m/-) grants from United States African Development Foundation to help enhance rural electrification.
