NEW DELHI: Under pressure from various quarters for its failure to repair potholes on the Capital's roads following tall promises, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to constitute a monitoring committee under the chairmanship of Additional Commissioner (Engineering) to ensure that the work of road repair is completed within 10 days.

The decision was announced by Deputy Leader of House Ved Prakash Gupta on Wednesday.

Pune, August 19 In a major relief to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the Union government on Tuesday approved Rs 511 crore additional funds for roadwork, including BRTS, being implemented under JNNURM. Of this, the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) roads get Rs 165 crore though there are only about 50 days to go for its inaugural day.
"The Union government has approved the revised estimation proposal of the PMC with additional funds of Rs 511 crore,' Mayor Rajlaxmi Bhosale told The Indian Express from Delhi.

Leader of the house in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Subhash Arya and Standing Committee chairperson Vijender Gupta have said that the MCD has appointed a high power co-ordination committee under the chairmanship of Mayor Arti Mehra to monitor waterlogging on the city's roads.

All departments of the Delhi government and other government agencies are members of the committee.
