BHOPAL: Wind energy projects of 1,300 MW capacity will be set up in the state by December 2014, according to a press release here on Tuesday. One hundred MW power will be generated by biomass projects as well, according to State department New and Renewable Energy.

It said that apart from solar cookers, the Energy Development Corporation is also installing rooftop solar plants. Renewable energy shops, which were held at district-level till now, are being held at development block-level also.

INDORE: Madhya Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission chairman, Narayanprasad Kabirpanthi on Sunday heard nearly seven complaints related to atrocities on people from backward classes.

While hearing the complaints of the victims of clinical trials, Kabirpanthi announced to constitute a bench of commission, which will hear case by case complaint of clinical trial victims and take appropriate action. The bench will sit at Residency Kothi in the month of March.

BHOPAL: Hailstorm claimed the lives of a dozen peacocks in Saroda region of Ashok Nagar on Monday night. Standing crops in several villages across the state has also been damaged in the hailstorm.

The incident occurred at Khai Kheda village where the villagers found the dead peacocks and the officials are assessing the damage. Confirming the death of 12 peacocks district forest officer, O Acharya told TOI that the hailstones were quite big and were fatal. "There could me more loss," he said.

BHOPAL: Urban administration and development minister Babulal Gaur has said that Bhopal's ongoing development schemes should be completed within the prescribed time-limit.

He laid emphasis on better coordination between departments for effective implementation of schemes. Gaur was reviewing the progress of Bhopal's development at Mantralaya. Chief secretary R Parasuram was also present on the occasion. At the meeting, progress of Bhopal's BRTS Pilot Project was reviewed.

Village panchayatSakadehi in Betul is one of the eleven such village panchayats in the country that have been selected for this award which will be given away on February 2, celebrated as MNREGA Day, in New Delhi.

Woman sarpanch Hemlata Wadiva, deputy sarpanch Om Malviya and village panchayat secretary Raghunath Gohe will travel to New Delhi to receive this prestigious award.
