CHENNAI: The Public Works Department (PWD) is all set to make a seismic risk evaluation of the government buildings under its control in Chennai.

A comprehensive assessment and ranking of water disclosure practices by Ceres of 100 publicly-traded companies in 8 key sectors exposed to water-related risks - beverage, chemicals, electric power, food, homebuilding, mining, oil & gas and semiconductors.

Having announced a 20-25 per cent emission intensity reduction by 2020, India will now focus on the high carbon emitting sectors like cement manufacturing, power generation, transport, steel and building construction. An interim roadmap will be in place by April this year. The final plan of action will, however, be ready only in September.
