Addressing a longstanding demand of residents of plotted areas, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday announced that the draft guidelines for floor-wise sanction and regularisation of building plans in residential areas have been posted online.

The civic agency has sought comments from public regarding the guidelines and has given 30 days time to submit their suggestions.

This interim report prepared by the expert group set up by Planning Commission under leadership of Kirit Parikh highlights policies needed for the low carbon growth. The main sectors examined in this report are power, transport, industry, buildings and forestry & the recommendations made in this report are to be included in the 12th five-year plan (2012-17).

These byelaws may be called the Meghalaya Building-Bye Laws 2011. These byelaws shall apply to all the Master Plan Areas and Scheme Areas notified or to be notified from time to time within the State. These byelaws shall come into force on such date as the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority may make Notification in the Official Gazette.

In October 2007 the UN Chief Executives Board approved the UN Climate Neutral Strategy, which committed all UN agencies, funds and programmes to move towards climate neutrality within the wider context of greening the UN.  This report provides a progress update on implementation of the strategy.
