1,012 buses are older than 10 years while 127 are above 15 years old.

It has been submitted by the Amicus that it is possible to have buses with a mix of Hydrogen and CNG. She says that the IOCL has tried this technology and it has proved to be successful. Counsel appearing on behalf of SIAM says that it may not be very difficult to have Hydrogen – CNG mix fuel buses on the road but he will also like to take detailed instructions in this regard. Notice issued to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court in its order dated 2.7.2018 directed EPCA to look into the issue of hydrogen fuel cell buses. EPCA is filing this report in compliance with this direction.
