OVER the next few days, climate change and its imminent geographic, economic and social impact will be the topic of animated discussions at a series of world fora. Beginning with the United Nations General Assembly on September 22, the debate will shift to the G-20 meeting at Pittsburgh on September 24 and culminate in the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December.

Chennai, Sept. 9 India should publicise what it is doing in terms of mitigating climate change. This will help the international community to show India as an example of what developing countries ought to be doing, and consequently also help successful conclusion of climate negotiations, says Sir Richard Stagg, British High Commissioner in India.

New Delhi: Approximately three months prior to the commencement of mega Copenhagen meet on climate change, India on Tuesday listed out its key expectations, including financial compensation for its afforestation initiatives, extention of clean development mechanism (CDM) and an international agreement on green technology transfer from the developed to developing countries.
