Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sharath RK Vs State of Karnataka dated 13/04/2022.

Grievance in the application is that there is illegal construction of houses and shops under the high-power transmission lines without safety distance as per the laid down norms at Ashwath Nagar, Thanisandra main road, under BBMP Ward No.6. Storm water drains connected to the lakes of Bangalore were also encroached, resulting in untreated waste water being discharged into the said drains. On account of illegal constructions and parking, the roads were blocked.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Vijit Patni & Others Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 04/04/2022.

The issue related to filling up of a drainage system/nalla in the process of carrying out the construction activity and building a high rise building under Smart City Project near New Market, TT Nagar and Malviya Nagar. Due to this, the natural and free flow of water has been blocked. The construction of the high rise building by Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation is in violation of environmental rules.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahagunpuram Apartment Owners Association Vs Ghaziabad Development Authority & Others dated 25/03/2022.

The application was filed to consider the compliance report filed by the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) in pursuance of the NGT order, August 20, 2018 (O.A. No. 06/2018).

The NGT had directed the Ghaziabad Development Authority to comply with environmental clearance - the housing societies are required to keep 15 per cent o the area as green belt out of the total plot area of 54630 sq. metres.

Order of the Supreme Court in the matter of Dileep B. Nevatia Vs Union of India & Others dated 15/03/2022.

The matter related to pollution issues after the implementation of Worli Sea Face Project. The court was informed that the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has installed pollution monitors in the area in question.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) on February 25, 2022 has issued the Draft Building Construction Environment Management Regulations, 2022. This shall come into force on the final day of the publication.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gauri Maulekhi Vs Union of India & Others dated 16/02/2022.

The matter dealt with the validity of the EC granted by the MoEF&CC for development of modern poultry and egg market with a built up area of 96,629.057 sqm, adjacent to NH-24 Ghazipur, New Delhi by M/s Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board (DAMB).

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saviour Park Apartment Owners Association Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 04/02/2022.

Grievance in the application is against violation of environmental norms in setting up of a construction project – Saviour Park, Plot No. 108, Katori Mill, Loni Road, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, by Savfab Buildtech Pvt. Ltd., without valid Environmental Clearance (EC) and without requisite safeguards. It is further stated that EC conditions and environmental norms are being violated.

Institutional weaknesses limit the capacity of local governments to support efficient urbanization in developing countries. They also lead to the emergence of large developers with the clout to build entire cities. This paper analyzes the urbanization process when local governments are weak and large developers are powerful.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ved Prakash Aggrawal Vs Municipal Commissioner, Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad dated 25/01/2022.

The application seeks execution of NGT order, October 8, 2020 (OA 989/2019, Ved Prakash Aggrawal v. Municipal Commissioner, Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad).

By the said order, the Tribunal had dealt with the issue of illegal operation of dairy farms in the residential colony of Chiranjiv Vihar, Ghaziabad.
