Brackish Water Research Centre, an NGO, based in Surat, Gujarat approached the NGT for prohibiting construction of a jetty by Deendayal Port Authority, Kutch district through its contractors without obtaining Environmental Clearance (EC). It was said that concerned authorities were also approached, however, no action has been taken so far. The bench of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh of the Western Zone Bench, Pune admitted the application and noted that "substantial question of environment appears to be made out in the present matter".

Three applicants (Praveen Kakar, J C Kalra and D K Pant) filed an application before the NGT regarding M/s. Ansal Properties and Infrastructure Ltd. alleged encroachment and sale of a substantial part of land - comprising about 45% of the construction project, meant for parks and roads in Sushant Lok, Phase I, Gurgaon. This was in violation of  environmental laws, causing degradation to the environment.
