Jaipur: Famous the world over for offering wide variety of wildlife at destinations like Ranthambore National Park and Keoladeo National Park, the desert state may soon turn into home for cheetahs, which the Union government is planning to introduce. The government plans to bring cheetahs to India from African countries.

FLOOD-LIKE situation prevails in the droughtprone Jaislamer district of Rajasthan as torrential rains hit the region badly. The entire western Rajasthan is badly affected by the spell of heavy rains due to Phet and upper cyclonic circulation. Jaisalmer received over 12 cm rains followed by Jodhpur and Barmer which received 3 cm and 2 cm respectively.

Jaisalmer: Continuing heatwave across swathes of Rajasthan has forced hundreds of cattle-rearers from Jaisalmer and Barmer to migrate to neighbouring states in search of meadows for their livestock. Mercury in the areas bordering Pakistan has shot up to 50 degree C and left scores of people dead.

The world famous Golden Fort of Jaisalmer developed cracks and so the children of the Government Middle School functioning from the Fort premises were asked to stay away for taking their examinations.
