NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet on Thursday gave in-principle approval for providing financial support for the development of the Kuttanad wetland eco-system in Kerala as part of a rehabilitation package for farmers in suicide-prone districts of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

Feasibility of constructed wetland treatment system for septic tank effluent

The septic tank is commonly accepted as sewage treatment unit in isolated areas even if its performance is not consistent. The methods employed for disposal of such effluent are unsafe and needs careful attention to avoid risk to the public health. Regulatory framework for wetlands conservation - draft
