This paper presents an inverse modeling method based on wavelet analysis, devoted to assessment of the impacts of climate change on the groundwater resources of a con- fined coastal multi-layer aquifer, located in the south of France (Pyrénées-Orientales). The hydraulic behavior of the aquifer is described based on the results of a model calibrated to simulate the groundwater dynamics observed on two representative piezometers. The relative contributions of the climate and pumping forcings to the piezometric variations are quantified.

The issue of menstrual hygiene is inadequately acknowledged and has not received proper attention. Use of sanitary pads and washing the genital area are essential practices to keep the menstrual hygiene. Unhygienic menstrual practices can affect the health of the girls and there is an increased vulnerability to reproductive tract infections and pelvic inflammatory diseases and other complications. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene among high school girls at Nekemte town, Oromia region, Western Ethiopia.

During the course of present study, the abiotic factors investigated recorded remarkable variation at each of the three study sites. While pH, NO3-N, Total Dissolved Solids, BOD and COD recorded increasing values towards the downstream sections of the river, DO, Ca and alkalinity recorded decreasing values towards the downstream areas of the river. A total of seven species belonging to two families Cyprinidae and Salmonidae were collected. While Cyprinidae is represented by five species viz., Schizothorax plagiostomus, S. curvifrons, S. esocinus, S.

The aim of this study is to determine the phytochemical and antioxidants properties, moisture, protein, fat, ash, crude fibre, acidity, TSS, pH and calcium content of wild fruits namely water apple (Syzygium aqueum) and chappathikalli (Opuntia ficusindica) and it was collected from Kodaikanal hills, Tamilnadu, India. The total phenolic contents from water apple and chappathikalli fruits extract, determined following the Folin-ciocalteu assay were found in the range of 28.80 –30.70 mg/100g and 55.40 to 55.10 mg/100g.

The objective of the study was to assess whether Front-of-Pack (FOP) nutrition labels garner attention more readily than more complete, mandated nutrition information (the Nutrition Facts Panel (NFP), required in the US), and (2) To determine whether label design characteristics, specifically, color coding and/or coding with facial icons, increase attention to the FOP label.

The study monitored the toxicity of environmentally relevant concentration of pesticides and metals in zebra fish Danio rerio. Zebra fish were exposed to environmentally relevant concentration of pesticides and metals for a period of 14 days. The individual and the combined toxicity of pesticides and metals were evaluated. The pesticides and metals treated groups showed histopathological alterations in the muscle, liver and gill tissues. Significant alterations were seen in liver and gill compared to muscle tissue.

Landfilling is one of the most common methods for disposal of municipal solid waste. Government regulations for pollution control and public opposition due to unacceptable conditions makes it extremely difficult for planner to find a new landfill site. Geographic information system (GIS) and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) can be applied successfully in such situations considering various technical, environmental, economic, regulative, and social factors.

The Bahía Blanca Estuary, located at the Atlantic coast of Argentina, includes a governmental nature reserve to protect biodiversity, lands and water; however, as the process of industrialization and urbanization is stepping rapidly at the neighbouring area, the potential increase in contaminant loads is a serious concern. After several contaminants surveys at the estuary, no single study has been yet performed in order to study the native mussels population assemblages vs.
