The Plantation Corporation of Kerala Ltd (PCK) has been resorting to aerial spraying of the pesticide endosulfan for about 2 decades, 2 to 3 times an year, in 4696 ha of cashew plantation owned by it in Kasaragod district of Kerala for the control of tea-mosquito bug.  From 1979, there have been press reports on health abnormalities in the region adjoining the plantation.

This Act provides for the efficient use of energy and its conservation at the Central and State level.

The purpose of this report is to describe the current uses of biosolids in the United States, especially the progress being made at mine reclamation sites. The background section will define and describe the production and traditional uses of biosolids. It will respond to common concerns over biosolid use, such as leaching, and explain the safeguards associated with every biosolids project.

The current emission standards and safety measures for conversion of in-use vehicles to CNG are extremely lax. The emission standards only require the vehicles to meet the equivalent standards for diesel and petrol vehicles in force in the year of manufacture. This means that a pre-1996 vehicle after being converted to CNG would have to meet only the outdated emission

The Batteries (Management & Handling) Rules, 2001 apply to every manufacturer, importer, re-conditioner, assembler, dealer, recycler, auctioneer, consumer and bulk consumer involved in manufacture, processing, sale, purchase and use of batteries or components thereof.

The most visible impact of air pollution is the haze, a brownish layer of pollutants and particles from biomass burning and industrial emissions, that pervades most regions in Asia. A recent international study, the Indian Ocean Experiment (INDOEX), has revealed that this haze is transported far beyond the source region, particularly during the dry season.

Past experiences have shown that centralized management of natural resources, based on a culture of exclusion and rules, has not contributed to the sustainable management of natural resources.
