The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has said in an audit report on the Food Corporation of India (FCI) that more than 4.72 lakh tonnes of wheat valued at Rs700.30 crore got damaged in Punjab till March 2016 due to delay in implementation of the private entrepreneur scheme which was expected to increase the storage capacity of foodgrains

This audit report on “Schemes for Flood Control and Flood Forecasting” by the Comptroller And Auditor General of India (CAG), examined whether schemes for flood control and flood forecasting were efficient and effective. It revealed delays in completion of projects under the flood management programmes.

GOI introduced the Modified National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (MNAIS) and implemented it on pilot basis in 50 districts from the Rabi season 2010-11. From the Rabi season 2013-14, GOI merged MNAIS and WBCIS into a new programme, the National Crop Insurance Programme (NCIP) replacing NAIS.

This Report for the year ended March 2016 has been prepared for submission to the Governor of Karnataka under Article 151 of the Constitution of India for being laid in the State legislature. The Performance Audit Report contains 11 Chapters dealing with Administration of National Parks and Wildlife sanctuaries.

The Report contains the results of performance audit of disaster management activities of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir covering the period from 2010-11 to 2014-15 including the drought of 2009, the cloudburst in Leh of 2010 and the floods of September 2014.
