June 1: The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, directed the Agriculture Technology Mission to work out the modalities for implementing cooperative farming in AP. As per the novel method, which is already being practised in countries like Israel, China and Vietnam, entire land measuring more than 1,000 acres in a particular village is pooled and jointly farmed.

May 31: The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, has directed officials to set up a Credit Guarantee Fund that will benefit 30 lakh women under the Indiramma Housing Scheme. The fund, with an initial corpus of Rs 15 crore, will stand guarantee to banks which have been hesitating to provide loans to Indiramma housing beneficiaries.

May 29: The Nannari plant, from which the famous Rayalaseema sharbat is made, has been listed among endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Apart from the Nannari plant, 46 other species from the State have also been put in the red list by the IUCN.
