NGT directs the State of West Bengal to file status report on the removal of illegal bandhs and fisheries as well as on the plantation of the mangroves.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Biswajit Mukherjee Vs Union of India & Others dated 16/04/2018 regarding fire cracker units operating in West Bengal. An affidavit filed in NGT gives information that the State Government is taking steps to establish clusters for setting fire cracker units in different districts for which purpose areas have been earmarked in the South 24 Parganas and for the districts of Hooghly, Howrah, Murshidabad and Burdwan. NGT demands a report on this matter.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ankur Kashyap Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 16/04/2018 regarding illegal in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Applicant (Ankur Kashyap) states that the State of Uttar Pradesh is unjustifiably procrastinating this proceeding allowing illegal mining to continue. He submits that unchecked illegal mining is going on and no action is being taken by the State.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sushil Raaja Vs Secretary, MORTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) & Others dated 13/04/2018 regarding maintenance of green cover along highways. The States were asked to furnish the following information:

NGT directs District Administration, Mathura that those units who do not have consent to operate and according to the Pollution Control Board are not complying with environmental norms should not be allowed to operate any further.
