A DAY after the visit of the Supreme Court's empowered committee to the Mullaiperiyar Dam, a hope has emerged that the dam could be saved from being decommissioned.

According to high-level sources of Tamil Nadu public works department, the dam remains intact and is resistant to seepage, leakage, cracks and seismic tremors.
