On 29th August 2014 the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change of the Government of India (hereinafter referred to as MoEF & CC) set up a High Level Committee headed by former Union Cabinet Secretary Mr. T. S. R. Subramanian, IAS (Retd.).

Picking holes in the environment management by Indian railways, Comptroller and Auditor General of India has found there were no specific instructions by the Railway Board for installation of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) at workshops, sheds and production units of railways.

GGGI in conjunction with a consortium of partners, including the Bangalore Climate Change Initiative – Karnataka (BCCI-K), produced a green growth strategy for the state of Karnataka. Development of the strategy included using sophisticated analytical tools and models and sectoral analysis in energy, agriculture, forestry, and water.
