Vacant land not meant for SEZ, industrial use

DINDIGUL: Vacant land in any parts the State, particularly in rural areas, should be used only for grazing or to develop forests or to create irrigation tanks instead of establishing special economic zones or industrial estates, said organic farming expert K. Nammazhvar.

Cattle eat into Nallamala

Hyderabad, Nov. 8: Unabated cattle grazing is causing thousands of hectares of greenland in the tiger reserve area in Nallamala to dwindle, wildlife experts have warned.

They say the buffer zone is eroding, and forest officials are unable to prevent locals from entering into the restricted area with cattle.
