But the proposed parking policy of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will ensure parking contractors can't skip this responsibility and much more.

The 10-page policy, sent to JNNURM recently for approval, is set to change the way you park your car in the city. AMC has suggested increasing parking space and keeping moderate parking charges. This involves identifying scope for on-street parking along designated roads.

AHMEDABAD: The ambitious Rs 15.9 crore e-governance project for Ahmedabad city has finally been given the nod by the JnNURM committee. The project once implemented will not only strengthen electronic interface between the public and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), but also bring in transparency in taxation issues.

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has cleared the proposal for construction of around 15,000 tenements by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board at Perumbakkam.

The clearance follows the TNSCB fulfilling the requirement of constructing an 18-metre-wide road near the multi-storeyed buildings. The move seeks to facilitate the resettlement and rehabilitation of 15,000 families from the city. However, the TNSCB is planning to reduce the number of tenements proposed in the project.

In order to achieve its goal of making Delhi a slum-free city, the Delhi Government will start allotment of houses under the Economically Weaker Section category from April this year, Industries Minister Ramakant Goswami said during a visit to a construction site at Pootkhurd in North-West Delhi on Friday.
