AIZAWL, June 25: A sum of Rs 68,59,96,000 has been allotted for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) for the year 2009-10 to Mizoram, official sources said here today.
According to the state level monitoring committee, the Centre has sanctioned the fund for the eight districts of Mizoram, except for Lunglei.

An evaluation was made on the performance of three tree species viz. Alnus nepalenis D. Don. Melia azadirachta A. Juss. and Gmelina arborea Roxb. and their interactive effects on crop yield during establishment period. The seedlings of all tree species survived better under cropped than un-cropped plots.
