Two villages were inundated as the embankment on the bank of the River Kapotaksi breached at the Gazipara point of Koyra in Khulna on Thursday.
About 300 families, 100 bighas of boro field, 250 small shrimp enclosures and 20 ponds of Gazipara and Gabbunia went under water, the local people said.

The district administration has finalised comprehensive flood relief and safety plans, which would be implemented with the active role of concerned departments.
