The Delhi government is mulling a study of the species of flora and fauna in the city. The study aims to find out as to which species are suitable for the climate in the city.

MUMBAI: The BMC's Tree Authority on Thursday cleared various proposals to hack around 4,000 trees in the city. Permission has been granted for 2,250 trees to be felled and another 2,000 to be transplanted.

The division bench headed by Justice N Kumar directed the BMRCL not to fell trees along both Lalbagh as well as the Lakshman Rao Park boulevard, where the metro rail alignment is planned.

The High Court has directed the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) not to fell trees along the Lalbagh-R V Road stretch until further orders.
