The National Green Tribunal, July 18, 2022 directed constitution of a committee comprising officials from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) to conduct on the spot inspection of Haji Ali Dargah premises in Worli, Mumbai in the presence of Haji Ali Dargah Trust. The Committee would also propose a future action plan to keep the place clean.

Sanction has been accorded for setting up of an integrated plastic waste management facility at Kunnamthanam, Pathanamthitta for an amount of Rs. 456 lakhs under Rebuild Kerala Initiative Scheme. A joint committee report found a huge gap among quantity of generation, quantity of collection and the quantity of waste disposal including variations with the figures uploaded on the website by the Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board. Also, the existing facilities were working below capacity (on average about 30 % of capacity).
