The area chosen for study is A. Mettur. The aim of the present investigation is to conduct a door to door survey about the location of the houses, socio-economic status of the people and the problems encountered using the water was done. Bore well, well, canal, lake and river water samples were collected from different places and physico-chemical and biological parameters were analysed.

Increasing industrialization and population causes increase in living standard, which results decrease in the quality of water. The physico-chemical characteristic of water is important determinant of the aquatic system. The present study was carried out in the month of July, 2005 to June, 2006 for the water ponds of Ayodhya and Faizabad.

A study of ground water of industrial zone of Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh has been carried out to examine quality of water for drinking purposes. The samples were collected from bore wells, tubewells, hand pumps and jet pumps. The data was analyzed for various physico-chemical parameters.

In the present work water quality indices of Mandakini river, Chitrakoot have been determined on the basis of various water quality parameters for 3 seasons, namely post-monsoon and winter at 6 sampling sites.

Agricultural production from the deltaic regions is the highest in countries like India. Study of groundwater quality, which is a function of physical and chemical parameters of the geological formations, is important as it will affect the agricultural production.

The paper describes case study carried out for evaluation, planning and management of water resource in and around a limestone mining area located in Bamangaon and Mehgaon village of Vijayraghovgarh Block in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. In the Vijayraghovgarh block was considered as an influencing zone for the water resource study. Average annual rainfall of the area is 1022 mm.

Major pollution sources in opencast coal mining are pumping of mine effluents; run off from coal stock yards, overburden dumps and haul roads; effluents from workshop and washing of heavy earth moving machinery and coal handling plant; disposal sites of sludge from oil and grease trap; domestic effluents from colony.

Fluoride takes part in a number of geochemical and biochemical reactions. The activity of the fluoride thus makes the ion non conservative in many occations, though the ion is included in the major ions category. Preferential enrichment of fluoride is a general observations in the coastal and estuarine environment.

Pharma's health fallout devastating

The industrial boom has hit areas around Hyderabad on many fronts

Fluoride concentration in rocks and soil are well documented, but data on the F concentration in coal are limited. In present paper, fluoride were monitored in rain water during rainy season at 7 location of Singrauli region in 2004.
