Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Naveen Saraswat Vs. State of Rajasthan & Others dated 09/06/2017 regarding mining operations in village Gwalda, Tehsil Tijara, Alwar District, Rajasthan which is in close proximity to the Aravali range.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajendra Singh Bhandari Vs. State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 08/06/2017 regarding appointments in State Pollution Control Boards/ Committee. NGT noted that some of the SPCB's are being manned by persons not having requisite qualification sometimes by bureaucrats, politicians as can be seen in the case of Pollution Control Board of State of Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, etc.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Doaba Paryavaran Samiti Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 06/06/2017 regarding groundwater pollution in six districts of western Uttar Pradesh. NGT directs CGWA to study the cause of groundwater contamination to know as to whether the contamination of water is due to geogenic or manmade reasons. NGT grants four weeks time to CGWA for conducting the study and submit its report before the Tribunal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Trans Delhi Signature City-Residents’ Welfare Association (TDSC-RWA) Vs. Chairman/Managing Director (UPSIDC) & Others dated 05/06/2017 regarding disposal of municipal solid waste in Trans Delhi Signature City, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. NGT directs UPPCB to inspect the area and submit the status report in case they find that Air and Water Act’s consent and conditions of the EC are violated, shall take action as accordance with law against the offending parties.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Suo Motu Uttarakhand Human Rights Commission Vs. Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttarakhand & Others dated 05/06/2017 regarding disposal of sewage in river Kausi and Ganga, Uttarakhand. NGT directs the Chief Secretary, State of Uttarakhand to resolve the issue with regard to both the projects, namely the STP as well as the MSW site.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Nav Yuvak Ajay Ekta Samiti Vs. Hindustan Copper Limited & Others dated 05/06/2017 regarding groundwater pollution caused by Hindustan Copper Limited, Balaghat District, Madhya Pradesh. Counsel for the State of Madhya Pradesh has submitted that clearance from the Water Resources Department has been received and estimate of 101.63 lakhs has been given for supply of safe drinking water to the namely Chhinditola, Suji, Bhorkheda, Bhimjori and Khurshipur. NGT directs the work to be completed before Monsoon.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Protection of Environment & Biodiversity & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 03/05/2017 regarding exemption of construction projects from the process of environment impact assessment (EIA) and prior environmental clearance. The Applicant wants MoEF not to grant any concurrence to any bye laws of any state exempting prior environmental clearance till the pendency of this Application.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ashwini Kumar & Anr. Vs. Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 01/06/2017 regarding discharge of untreated effluents from industries, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. NGT directs that water quality test be also done at the point where the industries particularly the paper industries are located. The report with regard to the water in nala along these industries may also be submitted on the next date of hearing (16/06/2017).

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Chandrakant Kele Vs Shree Tradco Deesan Pvt Ltd. & Others dated 31/05/2017 regarding pollution caused by Shree Tradco Deesan Pvt Ltd. (manufacturer of maize products), Dhule District, Maharashtra.The report submitted by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) reveals that the water samples collected from open well and soil samples collected from the land showed presence of heavy metals.
