Chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s move of privatisation of Delhi Jal Board has triggered a tug-of-war between the BJP led civic body and the Congress government.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Thursday said it has commissioned the third 250 MW advanced-class gas turbine Pragati-III project at Bawana in New Delhi.

Report on three voluntary organisations submitted, but none finalised

The East Corporation will feed 16,000 more mouths through its school meal programme this academic year and is in the process of finalising voluntary organisations to supply cooked food. All the schools are scheduled to reopen after the summer break from Monday. The mid-day meal will be provided to 1,48,000 children in Shahdara (North) and 95,000 children in Shahdara (South) zones. The scheme would reach out to students studying in Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools and government aided schools.

The Delhi high court on Thursday directed the city government’s transport department to retain, till its final order, the arrangement that allowed plying of all vehicles in the lane reserved for buses on the BRT corridor between Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand Hospital in south Delhi.

The division bench of Acting Chief Justice A.K. Sikri and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw asked the government to allow all vehicles to ply on the lane reserved for buses on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor till it passes an order on a PIL that sought opening of the corridor to all vehicles for smooth traffic movement.
