The consumer protection bill, 2018

This new bill introduced in the Lok Sabha includes provision for fine and imprisonment for adulteration of products, compounding of offences and establishment of the Central Consumer Protection Authority. Celebrities endorsing misleading ads will have to pay penalty of up to Rs 50 lakh and serve a ban of up to three years says this which replaces replaces the Consumer Protection Act 1986.

The aim of this study was to shed light on formalin crime and also the situational analysis of food adulteration in Bangladesh. The primary objective of this paper is highlighting the response of formalin users, community and government about the abuse of formalin in Bangladesh. The secondary objective of this paper is drawing successful strategies to make adulteration free food on the basis of the existing laws and strategies to curb the threading perils arranging healthy and safe life.
