The issue relates to regularization of the West Jyoti Nagar Colony, Shahdara, Delhi which was an unauthorized colony. It was stated that in the regularization plan of the colony community facility projects were earmarked and the land earmarked for community facility projects has been converted into illegal and unauthorized residential complexes.

The Apex Court finds no concrete implementation of the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM). The Court suggests that the Union of India may have to look into the matter on how to implement the Mission effectively so that crores of rupees that are sanctioned are not frittered away on issues that have no concern directly or indirectly with the NULM.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Raghunath Jha Vs. Ministry of Urban Development dated 22/09/2017 regarding destruction of trees as a result of demolition of government residential colonies, Delhi. NGT directs the Project Proponent to plant the tall trees at the site in question and if the space falls short, then the plantation shall be done at the site allocated for that purpose by the Delhi Development Authority. The plants shall be planted as a condition precedent to the cutting of the trees.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anil V. Tharthare V/s Secretary, Environment Department & Ors dated 06/03/2017 regarding cutting of the trees for a housing society, Gandhi Nagar, Bandra East, Mumbai.It is brought to the court's notice that the Tree Authority has granted permission to cut 39 trees and transplant 126 trees and plant 117 trees in the said property vide permission dated 27th May, 2015.
