Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage Ishika Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 16/02/2023.

The matter is related to remedial steps for rejuvenation of Najafgarh lake, a transboundary wetland on the border of Delhi and Gurgaon in Haryana. Damage to the lake is by discharge of waste and encroachments.

The Tamil Nadu government was directed by the National Green Tribunal, southern zone, Chennai to publish the new rules and guidelines related to sewage management in newspapers to make the people aware of the same.

The court said that the departments concerned should strictly follow and implement the rules to bring under control the problem of sewage water being illegally disposed of.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zone Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Sheikh Shakir Vs Grasim Industries Ltd. Chemical Division & Others dated 09/02/2023.

The NGT, acting on the complaint of industrial pollution against Grasim Industries Ltd. chemical division located in the town of Nagda, Madhya Pradesh directed a four member committee to visit the site and submit a report within six weeks.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Central Zonal Bench, Bhopal) in the matter of Dhanna Ahirwar Vs Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board & Others dated 08/02/2023.

Kolhapur irrigation Division has completed the work of demarcation of blue and red line in portion of Kolhapur city area as well as from Prayag Chikali to Rukdi of Panchganga river for the total length of 31.34 kms.

A committee comprising nominees of the Central Pollution Control Board, District Magistrate, Sangrur, Chief Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department, Punjab and Member Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board was directed by the NGT to look into the matter of contamination of ground water in village Aloarakh, block Bhiwanigarh, district Sangrur.

Joint Committee report in compliance to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order in Original Application No. 861 of 2022 in the matter of Kuldeep Singh Khaira & Others Vs State of Punjab & Others. The matter related to pollution of Sidhwan canal.

The National Green Tribunal directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to verify whether adequate steps have been taken to stop the flow of sewage and other wastes flowing into the storm water drain of  Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam informed the Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development, Lucknow that there is now connectivity of wash waters and waste from dairies at three vulnerable points. 158 houses which were unconnected to the sewerage system has now been connected and hence no sewage is now being discharged into the drain.
