This Puducherry Solar Energy Policy intends to create a framework that enables the development of solar energy in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The Union Territory of Puducherry comprises of four erstwhile French settlements viz. Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, which are unconnected regions.

The government has notified new draft rules to ensure the right to fair compensation and transparency in land acquisition in the Union Territory.

An overhaul of the public transport system along with the development of a multi-city network to reduce congestion, and significant improvements in pedestrian infrastructure, use of Non-Motorised Transport and Intelligent Transport System, management of parking spaces and road safety have been recommended in the Draft Comprehensive Mobility Plan

In order to give importance to Road Safety and to reduce the incidence of Road Accidents in the UT of the Puducherry, the Transport Department, Puducherry based on the guidelines of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi has prepared, "The Draft Road Safety Policy and Action Plan for the UT of Puducherry".

This is text of the new industrial policy of Puducherry government aimed at promoting pollution free, less water intensive and employment oriented sustainable industrial growth in the Union Territory.

This draft state water policy for Pondicherry is applicable to all the water resources in the Union Territory. A Water Resources Control Management and Review Council or Committee will be constituted to monitor implementation of the policy.

In order to provide a sustainable industrial growth, a draft industrial policy, 2012 has been formulated. The goals set forth in the policy are intended to create a pollution free, less water intensive and employment oriented industrial growth.

The key challenges that the State faces relate to striking a balance between environment degradation and economic growth. These challenges are intrinsically connected with the state of environmental resources, such as land, water, air and their flora and fauna.
