Enable Block:

Quarterly status report in compliance to the orders of the National Green Tribunal order in O.A. 389/18. The issue for consideration is the remedial steps for maintaining ecology in the area of Manali and Rohtang Pass, Himachal Pradesh.

This paper shows that electrifying ride hailing services’ will not only lead to substantial CO2 savings, but also means better economics for drivers across most vehicle segments in the five EU cities analysed.

This analysis indicated the importance of local and regional differences in flexibility supply and demand and the need to evaluate options and plans at a state level to fully understand the costs, potential, and issues that might arise.

With societies months-long in confinements and factories shut, the COVID-19 pandemic has gravely impacted economies across Europe and beyond. 2020 was touted the year of the electric car in Europe and early 2020 showed record plug-in sales.

Between now and 2030, smart sector integration can enable a smooth integration of the coming surge of electric vehicles (‘batteries on wheels’) in grids where renewable electricity sources will rapidly grow their share.

The objective of this study is to provide a first assessment of the legal scope for EU or national measures to phase-out ICE vehicles and to identify issues where legal uncertainty remains and further investigation is needed.

Announcement to clarify and bring forward phase-out of cars with engines commended by Transport & Environment. Campaign and research group Transport and Environment UK (T&E) congratulates the UK government for its bold proposal to end sales of all cars with engines within 15 years and, if possible, earlier.

In the U.S., transportation is climate enemy number one. America’s transportation system produces more greenhouse gas emissions than any other sector of our economy and, on its own, is responsible for 4 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions – more than the entire economies of France and the United Kingdom combined.

Trucks account for less than 2% of the vehicles on the road but 22% of CO2 emissions from road transport. The relative share of truck emissions is bound to increase as emissions from passenger cars are driven downwards by the surge in the sales of electric cars.

After years of slow progress electric vehicles are finally coming to Europe. Driven by the CO2 standards for 2020/21 -that require carmakers to reach on average 5% EV sales share in 2020 and up to 10% in 2021 or face fines -the offer of better performing and more affordable electric vehicles in Europe will at least double.
