Tannery effluent induced biochemical changes in the larvivorous fish, Gambusia Affinis

Tannery waste is one of the most complex and putrescible organic industrial wastes causing huge amount of water pollution. Through the excessive organic load present in tannery wastes the oxygen content of the waters is depleted, which leads to the death of fish and other aquatic animals. In India, Tamil Nadu is one of the largest exporters of leather.
