The Government is in the process of revamping its over three-decade old transport subsidy scheme for compensating transportation cost to industrial units located in North Eastern Region and J&K.

Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma today held consultations with States of North Eastern region and special category States of Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand in this regard.

Former Minister for Forests Benoy Viswam on Monday called for a review of observations regarding forest cover of Kerala in the State of Forest Report 2011 prepared by the Forest Survey of India (FSI).
