Work stopped on Ganga dams

New Delhi: More than 100 hydroelectric projects planned by the Uttarakhand government are in jeopardy. The Union environment and forests ministry's Forest Advisory Committee (FAC) has decided not to give forest clearance to any of the proposed projects until the National Ganga River Basin Authority conducts a cumulative impact assessment study of all proposed dams.

Statistical analysis of groundwater table depths in Upper Swarnamukhi river basin

Development and effective utilization of groundwater resources is essential in arid and semi-arid regions for activities such as water supply and irrigation. The present study aims to analyze, statistically, the groundwater data at the piezometric stations of upper Swarnamukhi basin in the drought prone Rayalseema region of Andhra Pradesh and to develop relationships through multiple linear correlation and regression analysis.
