PALAKKAD: The Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited has in a statement said that the allegations of excessive usage of groundwater by the company is baseless. This has been substantiated by studies conducted by all expert bodies, it added.

In an official statement by the company, it said that the plant at Plachimada in Kerala has not been operational since March 9,2004.

Apparently, PepsiCo's Indian interests are not confined to Indra Nooyi. The soft drink major has big plans and will invest $500 million over the next three years in its Indian operations. Hyderabad, July 2: A writ petition was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday seeking a direction for action to be initiated against Hindustan Beverages Coca-Cola Limited for selling its drinks higher than the MRP rate in Cinema theatres in the city. The petition filed by the Cine Preskhakula Viniyogadarula Sangham stated that the company has been selling its cool drinks at Rs 15 per bottle while the MRP printed on the bottle was only Rs 10. The petitioner informed the court that a case under Section 420 IPC was registered against the company in Malkajgiri police station.
