CHANDIGARH: Construction work for the prestigious 1,200 MW Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Project at Khedar in Hisar district is progressing steadily towards completion on schedule, said Haryana Power Generation Corporation Managing Director Sanjeev Kaushal here over the weekend.

Large combustion plants are responsible for two thirds of EUs total sulphur emissions, and the coal-fired top ten polluters account for 30 per cent.

A carbon dioxide emission limit for power plants should apply to both new and existing installations if it is to have a significant impact on reducing emissions by 2030, according to a study published by environmental consultants Ecofys.

The Clinton Climate Initiative says that cities produce 80 percent of the world

The final agreement on the EU climate package retains the goal to reduce emissions by 20 per cent. Together with a 20-per-cent share of renewables and 20-per-cent energy savings, this creates the triple goal of 20-20-20 by 2020.

The purpose of the present study is to describe the pattern of pollutant dispersion in the neighbourhood of the thermal power station-II in Neyveli. Neyveli Lignite Corporation houses two mines and two thermal power stations. Thermal power station-II is designed for 7 numbers of boilers each producing electricity at 210 MW, using lignite as the fuel.
