The present Statistical Abstract 2014 is the Seventh in the series brought out by this Directorate on the basis of secondary data sources. The uniqueness of Statistical Abstract is that it contains time series data on various socio-economic parameters and serves as an effective quantitative tool for reaching to logical conclusions in the context of planning and public policy making.

The present report on “Level and Pattern of Household Consumer Expenditure in Delhi” is brought out by this Directorate on the basis of sample survey conducted under the NSS 68th Round (July 2011 – June 2012). This report contains valuable data on consumption levels and pattern of households in Delhi.

The NSS 68th round survey was conducted during July 2011 to June 2012 to study the employment - unemployment situation in Delhi. The main results of the state sample are presented in this section under different sub-headings viz. Demographic profile, Labour force, Work force, Unemployment and Persons out of Labour force.

It also provides information on the main demographic features like literacy, social-group, marital status, occupational distribution, and other aspects of living conditions like, source of energy for cooking/lighting, dwelling ownership type, etc.
