The satellite imageneries are used to map vegetative type, density, land use/land cover in Singrauli coal field area. Seven vegetation types of eight other land use/land cover classes observed have also been varified through field surveys.

Geographic Information System (GIS) was utilized to apply a modified DRASTIC method to assess the aquifer vulnerability to pollution of English Bazar Block of Malda District, West Bengal, India.
