Raising questions on funding for the National Food Security bill, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said monetary provision for state governments to fund it should be ensured, failing which it could not be implemented.

NEW DELHI, March 22 – In a major push to revive the stalled Namrup Fertilizer modernisation plan, Assam Government has offered to share 10 per cent project cost of the new plant.

Zero tilling and organic farming will not only eradicate the need for expensive fossil fuel machinery, synthetic fertilizers and crop chemicals but also increase yields substantially and make way for farmers to return to their natural state, said Foundation for Farming, (Zimbabwe) Director Brian Oderive.

New Delhi The proposed diesel price decontrol may come sooner than expected with a special scheme to insulate farmers from its adverse impact through a cash subsidy. Initially, state governments will be responsible for delivery of the subsidy, the cost of which will be borne by the Centre. When the Aadhaar technology platform becomes operational, it will be used for transferring the subsidy.
