Article 13 of the Paris Agreement establishes a transparency mechanism to enhance the parties’ trust in the UN climate regime. But many states at present lack the institutional capacity to fully carry out their obligations under the Paris Agreement.

Reducing fossil fuel supply is necessary to meet the Paris Agreement goal to keep warming “well below 2°C”. Yet, the Paris Agreement is silent on the topic of fossil fuels.

Current commitments under the Paris Agreement are not sufficient to limit global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels; the UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2015 showed that a mitigation gap of 14 GtCO2e exists for 2030. Against this background international climate initiatives can play an important role for reducing global emissions.

The purpose of this report is to capture and document some interesting climate change adaption technologies that have already been developed and are being put in use in different parts of Bangladesh by different organisations, addressing a knowledge gap in the sharing of adaptation learnings in the agriculture and water sectors.
