This national action plan was developed through a series of multi-stakeholder consultative workshops with representations from national, regional and international biodiversity organizations.

In the face of climate change, there is urgent need for Himalayan nations to build resilience to buffer the impacts of climate change and generate resources for adaptation, capacity building, and technology transfer. Such actions can no longer wait for a global agreement.

This Act shall be called The Water Act of Bhutan 2011. This Act shall apply to all issues related to water resources of the Kingdom. This Act hereby repeals the provisions of any other Acts, regulations and administrative instruments which are inconsistent with this Act.

Mindful of the reality and the gravity of the impacts of climate change, the national paper on “Persistence of Biodiversity and Climate Change” was developed.

Minerals are limited and non-renewable resource, and must be exploited prudently in the larger interest of the country. Over the years minerals and mineral based industries have made significant contributions to the economy and the national well being.

The Renewable Energy Policy intends to provide the necessary direction for the promotion and development of Renewable Energy that not only contribute in meeting the current requirements but also shape future energy security options for Bhutan.
