Meghalaya has a fragile ecosystem covering an area. The main objective of climate change action plan is to strategize adaptation and mitigation initiative towards emission stabilization and enhances the resilience of the ecosystem.

This mission document by Ministry of S&T got in-principle approval by PM's council on climate change. It is amongst 8 missions under NAPCC and is aimed at networking existing knowledge institutions, capacity building & improving understanding of key climate processes and climate risks.

The draft of India’s ambitious National Solar Mission plan under the National Action Plan on Climate Change approved by the Prime Minister of India on 3rd Aug 09. The plan has an ambitious target of generating 20,000 MW solar power by 2020 and this mission document describes the mission strategy in three phases.

The Ministry of Power (MOP) and Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) were tasked to prepare the implementation plan for the National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE). NMEEE spelt out the following four new initiatives to enhance energy efficiency, in addition to the programmes on energy efficiency being pursued by MOP and BEE.
